With E3 less than ten days away, it doesn’t come as a surprise to see Microsoft registering new domains. Noticed by Fusible, the publisher has grabbed up a bunch of domains regarding a title called Halo: Spartan Assault. These registrations came through Microsoft’s brand protection manager MarkMonitor, a company through which they often buy domain names.

There was apparently a fan fiction titled Spartan Assault that was written in 2009 and took place in the Halo universe, but I would be hesitant to think the two are remotely related.
For now, we wait and see if anything ever emerges regarding these domains. For all we know it could just be Microsoft being extremely cautious. The fact that they didn’t snag XboxOne.com before the reveal came back to bite them in the butt.
