Publisher/Developer Ubisoft says super-spy Sam Fisher will return on Aug. 20, 2013 in Splinter Cell: Blacklist.
Originally slated for a “spring 2013 release,” Ubisoft has extended its development schedule for Blacklist, as revealed in the newest trailer, courtesy of IGN (below).

The trailer, entitled “Inauguration,” shows Sam Fisher speaking with an unnamed female president who, of course, needs the Fourth Echelon agent to prevent the “blacklist attacks.” Though the trailer doesn’t show much in the way of gameplay footage, as previous videos released by Ubisoft have, it preserves the intensity and all-around badassary that the series is known for.
Along with the Aug. 20 release date, the video also serves as confirmation of pre-order bonus material, including an exclusive co-op map (“Dead Coast”), an Upper Echelon suit with enhanced protection from gunfire and detection, and gold SONAR goggles. The game’s website reveals this bonus content to be available now through GameStop.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be available on PS3, Xbox 360 (with Kinect capabilities) and PC. A WiiU version has not yet been confirmed.
