It was way back in May 2011 when Bethesda trademarked the term “Redguard” for what we all assumed to be a piece of Skyrim DLC. Since then, the firm has continued to repeatedly extend the trademark, making it evident that they will someday use that title. As of right now, the trademark will elapse next month unless they successfully file another extension.
Technically it could also be a complete title, but we all know that that isn’t the case, as evidenced by the terms it was filed under. Described as “downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices,” it will most likely be another expansion.
The first expansion for Skyrim, Dawnguard, remained located in Skyrim and focused on vampires while the more recent Dragonborn took us to Solstheim, a territory of Morrowind. Since the Redguards are from Hammerfell, a territory adjacent to Skyrim, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch for us to potentially visit there. Stay tuned as more details will surely emerge.
