According to a tweet from Microsoft’s Albert Penello, there will be an adapter which allows current generation headsets to be used on the Xbox One. Unfortunately, this adapter will not be bundled with the console, and will be sold as an accessory.
We learned late last month that the Xbox One console will not come with a headset, instead requiring users to communicate with the Kinect out of the box. A Microsoft branded Xbox One headset is being sold separately for $24.99.
The need for this adapter is due to the “higher data transfer speed between the controller and the console,” which necessitated a new expansion port.
