At this point, gamers have a pretty good idea of what the first few months to a year of the next console generation will look like. Between Sony and Microsoft’s individual console reveals and this month’s E3 expo, all three major players in the console market sketched out a basic outline of what features and games we can expect to see from the Xbox One, the Wii U and PlayStation 4 going into next year. Heavy hitters like Killzone, inFamous, Halo and Super Smash Bros. were all on display earlier this month.
However, a handful of major franchises were mysteriously absent. Here, in no particular order, are a handful of major players we’re surprised we haven’t heard from (yet) as we head into the next era of home console gaming.
