The Japanese development team behind Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, and most recently, Ni No Kuni, is hard at work on a fresh experience for Sony’s PlayStation 4.
In a recent interview with Nikkei Trendy, the head honcho of Level-5, Akihiro Hino, gave fans just a a tidbit of information on the team’s next-generation plans.
“It’s still in the planning stages, but we are also working on a PlayStation 4 title,” Hino said. “We might be able to announce it soon.”
That’s not very descriptive, but Hino went on to talk about the potential of both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita.
“PlayStation 4 is next-gen hardware built with the network in mind, so more than graphics performance and specs, we need to think about communication—how to use the network features.
“I think the Vita’s new price (19,800 yen) is great,” Hino stated. “However, just cutting the price is not going to lead to it spreading. You also have to simultaneously release strategic titles. I think there is a huge amount of anticipation around what those titles will be.”
Look, Dark Cloud 3 sounds pretty great. But, it’s probably not worth holding our collective breath, so let’s just wait patiently and see what this RPG juggernaut has cookin’ for the future.
Thanks, Gematsu!
