Developer DICE has confirmed that Battlefield 4 will not release on the Wii U. During an interview with VideoGamer.com, creative director Lars Gustavsson said this was to prevent the team from being stretched too thin.
Gustavsson went to to explain that DICE’s goal with Battlefield 4 is to focus on what they know, in hopes of making a better product. He continued, “I’d rather play it safe, deliver something really good and then look at the future and what could possibly be done than trying a bit too hard and [failing].”
This isn’t the first major title to skip the Wii U, but this also begs the question, who would be playing Battlefield on the Wii U? Battlefield 4 is currently scheduled for release on other next-gen consoles, PC, 360, and PS3. Look for it sometime in late 2013.
