Jasper Byrne’s Lone Survivor got a lot of praise last year for its ominous, creepy vibe that felt like a classic survival horror game. You weren’t sure what to be afraid of and so many options at your disposal. It was only for PC/Mac for the longest time but now that’s going to change.
Byrne announced on his blog that it’ll be coming to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. It’ll be re-coded by Curve Studios in London, who worked on Fluidity for PS3. He sounded super happy about the porting on his blog:
I’m greatly looking forward to this, as it’s been a dream of mine since childhood to release a game on console, and especially the Sony ones as I love what they do most of all. Anyone who follows my twitter will know that I don’t tend to play games on PC, I really am a couch gamer, most happy on my PS3! Lone Survivor was designed as a console game (in my head, anwyay.) In fact, all the games I work on I really imagine being on console, or fantasise about, anyway!
Lone Survivor was so great but my only qualm with it was not having controller support (on Mac anyways). Now, the ability to finally play it with a controller, is going to be awesome. Look forward to this coming soon.
