Today, Blizzard announced that Diablo III, the fastest-selling PC game in history (3.5 million copies in 24 hours), will be receiving expansion content. And now that the game has gone on to sell over 10 million copies, Blizzard would be crazy not to make new content for the game.
Beyond that, there is not much more information. On an investor call, Blizzard president Michael Morhaime said that there is a plan for an expansion, but there isn’t any timeline set for it as the company wants to focus on quality before a concrete deadline. As Blizzard fans are well aware, the company has always adopted an “it’s ready when it’s ready” stance to product release. A safe bet for the content’s release would probably be Winter 2017.
I kid, I kid.
I’m still pumping hours into Diablo III with no end in sight. Is anyone else still playing it, or have you moved on to other things? Tell us in the comments, or discuss your winning character builds in our forums!
