If you’re looking to get some time in with PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale before it’s November release, you can do so in an upcoming beta as soon as tomorrow the 16th. Anyone with PlayStation Plus will have access via their PS3 tomorrow, and the beta will expand to non-Plus users on October 23rd. But, if you choose to participate with a PS Vita, you can get the early start, no Plus membership required.
But, no matter which you chose, Vita and PS3 users will be able to battle each other, as cross-play is supported. Content will be limited, however, with playable characters restricted to Kratos, Sweet Tooth, Colonel Radec, Sly Cooper, Parappa, and Fat Princess. These combatants will only be able to face each other in four-player or 2 v 2 tournaments, and only in the Metropolis and Hades stages. Even so, this seems like more than enough content to get a feel for the game.
If you end up having to wait until the 23rd to play, be sure to get some time in quick, as the beta ends October 30th. Check out the beta announcement trailer below while you wait.
