Recent developments regarding the Wii U’s impending November worldwide release sees the emergence of prepaid eShop cards branded after Nintendo’s new console. A listing on Wal-Mart’s online store advertises $20, $35 and $50 (all US) prepaid tiers, which are redeemable on the 3DS eShop and eventually the Wii U.
Presumably, like the 3DS eShop, consumers will also be able to make online purchases using credit cards. The Wii U GamePad also contains an NFC (Near Field Communication) chip not unlike monetary transaction devices found in many retail businesses, however no official confirmation has been made by Nintendo announcing the ability to make payments this way.
Are you feeling slightly more relieved that Nintendo is taking the online realm of their consoles more seriously this time around? Sound off below or converse in our forums.
