A launch date for Microsoft’s recently announced tablet has been detailed in an annual report filed this week with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The Surface will be released alongside Windows 8 on October 26, though no pricing plans have been detailed at this time.
The ARM-based version running Windows RT will be the first, and cheaper, model to be released, with the Intel-based version running Windows 8 Pro coming 90 days later. Once again, neither model has a price quite yet, but expect more news as we approach the date of its debut. As of now, a “competitive price” with the competition is the best piece of information available.
Is this the date you expected for the tablet’s release? Do you think people will be lining up to grab a Surface? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
