The series that has dominated consoles this generation has easily been Call of Duty. With the release of the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the series became the popular title that seemed to just be flying off of the shelf. Activision has put together monstrous sales numbers with both Infinity Ward and Treyarch developing their version of the series.
Thanks to a job posting on Infinity Ward’s website, discovered by Gamespot, it appears that Infinity Ward is hiring for the next-generation version of Call of Duty. Below, we’ve included the listing exactly how it is portrayed on Infinity Ward’s website:
“Infinity Ward, developer of numerous award winning games, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, is seeking a Senior Animator, preferably with experience in game development and an interest in working with next-generation technologies.”
While it could be easily referencing this generation, rumors are ramping up quite severely that numerous studios are working on the next-generation of games. With the possibility of the Xbox 720/Xbox Next being revealed at E3, it’s very likely that Infinity Ward is preparing a Call of Duty game to be a launch title.
What do you think Infinity Ward is working on? Do you feel that it’s just the next Call of Duty on this generation of consoles, or could it be for the true next-generation? Be sure to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment below, or discuss Call of Duty in our forums!
