In an official post on the Bioware forums, Bioware’s Jessica Marizen announced that the demo for Mass Effect 3 will be made available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace and the Playstation Network at some point in January. The announcement also stated that those who purchase new copies of Battlefield 3 will be granted early access to the demo.
“Redemption of the Online Pass for Battlefield 3 will unlock this early access,” Marizen said. “Owners of Battlefield 3, on any platform, who activate their Online Pass will automatically be granted early access to the multiplayer portion of the Mass Effect 3 demo. There is no need to enter any other codes, the early access will be applied to the EA Account associated with the Online Pass. This applies to all regions where the demo is released.”
No details were announced as to how far ahead of the normal release the early access will be granted, but we now know that it will contain both singleplayer and multiplayer game elements, with the multiplayer being the only mode available early download.
The full version of Mass Effect 3 will be released on March 6, 2012 for Xbox 360, Playstation 4, and PC.
