Excited to learn more about Bungie’s next game, Destiny? The rest of the world is too. It’s been hard for a studio to keep everything under wraps though, there’s already been one leak, and today another document emerged. IGN reported on a reader that uncovered a document that was prepared for an advertising agency, and Bungie has confirmed its validity. Part of the document reads,
“Our story begins seven hundred years from now in the Last City on Earth, in a Solar System littered with the ruins of man’s Golden Age. A massive, mysterious alien ship hangs overhead like a second Moon – the Traveler. No one knows where it came from or what it’s here for, but only that it’s our protector. Meanwhile, strange, alien monsters creep in from the edge of the universe, determined to take Earth and the Last City. We are young ‘knights’ tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters and – eventually – overcoming it.”
The game is described as “fun and accessible to all,” and aims “to create a universe as deep, tangible and relatable as that of the Star Wars franchise.” It sounds as if Bungie is aiming to make Destiny more accessible and looking to draw in a wider audience. “We’re not quite ready to take the wraps off our next universe, but in light of recent events we thought we’d give fans something a little more official. . .There’s much more to come,” their website now reads.
In addition to the screenshots that IGN uncovered, Bungie also released one on their website, which can be found above. Ironically, the title of the image is “Third Times The Charm,” at least we know they haven’t lost their sense of humor.
