EA Sports just released a video today showcasing the new tackling system in this year’s Madden NFL 15 game. In the past, experienced gamers could attempt to hitstick everything and not have to deal with any real consequences. That will all change this year.
The video below goes over the changes that have been made to the tackling system in Madden 15. If you want to perform an aggressive tackle you can hit the square button on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 and the X button on the XBOX 360 and XBOX One. That button still makes the player dive to make the tackle which is mostly the same as before.
If you want to make a conservative tackle, you can hit the X button on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 and the A button on the XBOX 360 and the XBOX One.
The hitstick function is still performed with the right stick. Now it is riskier however. You are more likely to miss a tackle by using the hitstick button. You have to weight the benefits of potentially forcing a fumble or causing an injury against the increased risk of missing a tackle.
