‘Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’ Beta Downloadable Now

For anyone that has been waiting for the release of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on the Playstation 4, you can now begin your download of the 11GB game client as of the recent PSN update on Tuesday. While you’re able to download the client, you are unable to play until the open Beta begins on February 22nd. The Beta is said to run until the March 3rd and it is unsure whether or not this is simply the first phase of the Beta or if it will close for good on this date.

Players will be able to create their own character and level that character up until level 20 yet all of this data WILL NOT be carried over when the full game launches on April 14th. Any gamers that are playing Realm Reborn on the Playstation 3 will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version for free once the new version has been released. Unlike Beta-created characters, all of the PS3 gamers will be able to migrate their characters over to the new console to continue on with their questing without disruption.

I will be playing through this Beta and will be posting updates along the way and I look forward to testing the remotely-play feature of Realm Reborn on my Vita.
