Microsoft hints at bringing previous IPs to the Xbox One

It’s pretty much inevitable that both Microsoft and Sony will revive older franchises on their new consoles, and this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Microsoft has already proven its willingness to do so with the launch day re-imagining of Killer Instinct, and if Microsoft Studios’ Phil Spencer is to be believed, more might be on the way.

In response to a top ten list over at Game Informer, which just so happened to revolve around old franchises the gaming giant “needs to bring back,” Spencer tweeted,

We might do ok over this generation checking off some of these. Was surprised not to see Gears.

Of course, this doesn’t confirm anything, but the list in question does mention a few notable titles, including Mech Assault, Viva Pinata, and Lost Odyssey. Really, I’d just be happy with a new Lost Odyssey, but that’s not where I’d put my money. Are there any games on the list you’d like to see? Let us know below.

What the world needs right now, above all else, is a sequel to Azurick, Blood Wake, and Brute Force.
