Users who purchase a season pass from select publishers for games on their Xbox 360 will receive access to the season pass of the same game on the Xbox One, Microsoft announced Wednesday.
“With Season Pass Guarantee, you can purchase a Season Pass for a participating Xbox 360 title and automatically receive access to download the equivalent Xbox One Season Pass,” the Xbox Wire post reads.
Currently, Activision, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft are listed as “some of the biggest publishers” to partake in this program with Microsoft.
“Some of the biggest publishers, including Activision, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft, are lined up for the Season Pass Guarantee program, offering season pass content you can’t find anywhere else for blockbuster titles in 2013 and 2014. You’ll be able access exclusive season pass content on anticipated titles like “Call of Duty: Ghosts” and “Battlefield 4” on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One.”
A full list of games and publishers that will be participating in this program will be revealed “in the coming months.”
Console transitions can make it difficult for consumers to decide where and when to spend their money. Sounds like a no-brainer for publishers to offer further incentive for those customers to spend their money now and not have to worry about the future. What do you think?
