Ubisoft is already starting to ramp up the marketing for its November 1 release of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Here’s a mostly non-gameplay trailer to get you excited for the story.
The trailer outlines the main events that frame the narrative of Black Flag, discussing the prevalence of pirates in the times and the events that lead up to them. The trailer claims that these are the absolute true stories of such famous pirates as Blackbeard and Calico Jack, though it doesn’t offer anything in the way of just how the Assassins will tie into them. More curious is how things will continue following Assassin’s Creed III, which tied things up rather definitively.
The end of the trailer also gives us a glimpse at the game’s special edition, dubbed Black Chest Edition. It looks like players that splurge on the edition will get 2 canvas prints, an art book, a Steelbook case, a soundtrack, a flag, a sculpture, a map, 2 lithographs, in-game content, and a big black chest to put it in. That’s a lot of booty!
Is this enough to get you to preorder the game, or are you starting to suffer from franchise fatigue? Tell us in the comments, or discuss the future of the series in our forums!
