Since our staff is responsible for covering pretty much everything related to the video game industry on a daily basis, it can be tough to post all the stories we think our readers would like to see. Videos go unwatched, new release dates are missed and silly quotes just float away without ever being heard. So, instead of ignoring the news that slipped through the cracks each week, we decided to put it all in one convenient place!
This week, Techland and Team Ninja announce new games, Kojima explains the exclusivity of the MGS Legacy Collection, and user created maps come to Halo 4.
Techland announces ‘Hellraid’
Dead Island developer Techland has announced Hellraid, a co-op first-person slasher. Not much is known about the project yet, but it will focus on “system-generated online challenges, loot and enemy spawn points make the game playable for hundreds of hours!” Hellraid will have both a single player and multiplayer campaign, and be available on the PC, 360, and PS3.
New ‘Dead or Alive 5’ project announced
Team Ninja is still hard at work, recently announcing a new Dead or Alive 5 project. During the TGN Playse #1 tournament in Japan, a brief teaser was shown featuring Momiji from Ninja Gaiden. This unnamed project is scheduled to hit the PS3 and 360, but no release date is known. Check out the teaser trailer below.

Microsoft’s E3 press conference to be held June 10
According to information gathered from the Galen Center at the University of Southern California, Microsoft will be holding its E3 press conference on June 10th. This joins the long list of events Microsoft has scheduled during the coming months, beginning with the reveal of the next Xbox on May 21st.
‘MGS Legacy Collection’ not coming to the 360 due to size and ‘MGS 4’ exclusivity
The upcoming Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection is a PS3 exclusive, and series creator Hideo Kojima recently explained why during a Japanese radio interview. Kojima stated,
I’m sorry to say an Xbox 360 version isn’t being released, because an Xbox 360 version of MGS4 hasn’t gone on sale. To explain the situation, the amount of data in MGS4 is just too enormous.
The system’s use of DVDs is cited as the main culprit, but he did give some hope for next-gen consoles, explaining, “when it’s the next console, maybe we can release it.” The Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection will include all four main entries in the series, as well as Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions. It’ll hit stores this June.
Player created ‘Halo 4’ maps coming next week
343 Industries will be introducing new player created maps to Halo 4’s multiplayer this Monday, May 6th. These come with a slew of other updates, most of which revolve around weapon balancing, and can all be found here. Check out a full list of the new maps below.
