Obsidian Entertainment may not always be successful, but the studio sure is scrappy. Since its inception in 2003, the studio has shipped a wide variety of RPGs, and it’s not slowing down for next-gen consoles.
Obsidian is currently looking for a level designer on an upcoming “unique next generation game.” Duties will include, “planning and populating missions/quests, scripted sequences, encounters, challenges and rewards.” This all seems to fit Obsidian’s M.O., especially considering knowledge of games with “role playing elements,” is listed as a plus. No specific details are known beyond these minor rumblings.
Outside of next-gen projects, Obsidian is still rather prolific. South Park: The Stick of Truth is still in development after the THQ fiasco, with Ubisoft now owning the publishing rights. And of course, the massive Kickstarter success Project Eternity is still well into production, and due out in 2014.
