The folks running CD Projekt Red have proven to be a vocal bunch. When speaking with Eurogamer, marketing head Michal Platkow-Gilewski confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will have no form of multiplayer whatsoever. When explaining why, Gilewski continued,
There’s no place for multiplayer in so strongly a story-driven game as The Witcher 3. We want to focus on the single-player experience, delivering more than 100 hours of truly immersive gameplay.
Despite rumors circulating over the past few months, this is as clear-cut as answers get. Frankly, this seems like good news. If the team behind Wild Hunt can focus on creating another robust solo experience, the game should be able to surpass its predecessors. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is currently scheduled for release on the PC and PS3 sometime in 2014.
