In a report from Kotaku, citing an unnamed source, the gaming blog claims that the next game in the Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Origins, will have multiplayer – a first for the series.
Said unnamed source was proven trustworthy to Kotaku when it was revealed that the information on the game’s title and cover art he/she provided matched the revealed information from Game Informer’s cover for their April 2013 issue.
The source told Kotaku that Origins will also have at least one multiplayer mode, which Kotaku corroborated with “a second source,” in which you play as a member of the Joker’s or Bane’s gang, working to take down Batman and Robin. It was specified if this was a cooperative mode or if other players will assume the role of the Bat and Bird, respectively. Some of the villains mentioned were Killer Croc, Deadshot, Firefly, Black Mask, Deathstroke, and “some kind of Electroman character.” It doesn’t specify whether these villains will be playable or not.
Batman: Arkham Origins will be available October 25 for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC.
