This is Vegas, the former Midway project being developed by Surreal Software, may not be canceled after all.
Back in 2010, CVG reported that this expensive PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC game had been scrapped after its assets were sold to Warner Bros. It was estimated that Midway spent between $40 million and $50 million developing the game. However, that money may not have gone to waste, if the game’s website is to believed.
Looking at the domain details of website, cleverly titled “thisisvegas.com,” we found that it had been updated on March 22 to display the title of the game and the text “coming soon.” It was created in 2008 to promote the game, and will expire Feb. 5, 2014.
Without any recent information on the previously canned project, it’s likely that it’ll be a next-gen project. That is, if it really does exist and we’re not all being taken for a ride.
Either way, it’s something to watch in the coming months.
