The upcoming sequel to last year’s indie hit, Hotline Miami, will be set in the 1990s, but more specifically, it will draw on the emotion of the early ‘90s, according to a report from Joystiq. Additionally, there will be parallel plots being told that revolve around the first game.
In February, Dennaton Games announced the first Hotline Miami was going to be ported to the PlayStation Vita and PS3 by a company called Abstraction. The sequel is currently planned to launch on PC, but Abstraction is ready and available to work on porting the sequel, as well. If things go well with Sony, Hotline Miami’s sequel may launch day-and-date on PC and Vita.
While Jonatan Soderstrom and Dennis Wedin, the duo responsible for Hotline Miami, initially tried to start a new IP, Hotline Miami kept pulling them back in. However, this sequel will be the end of the series, they say.
