There are a lot of avid Dungeon Defenders fans out there, and those fans just got a little treat. Trendy Entertainment has announced the sequel to their massively successful game in Dungeon Defenders II. The biggest surprise? It’s free-to-play.
Also added, is a new competitive multiplayer mode which functions as a MOBA (i.e. League of Legends, DOTA, etc). With that, the team is aiming for around 24 heroes at launch, way up from the four that the original shipped with.
Unfortunately, releasing the game on current gen consoles has already been ruled out, but Trendy is hopeful that next generation consoles will be more update friendly.
Signups for the beta are now open, but in the meantime, if you’re going to PAX East, the game will be playable on the show floor. Those who do will get one of four exclusive in game items to redeem once the game launches. If that wasn’t enough, they’re also selling merchandise and giving away prizes.
Who’s excited to defend once again? I know I am.
