‘Gears of War: Judgment’ has second campaign set in Gears of War 3

Last night, Major Nelson held a live event for everyone on Xbox Live to get a look at quite a few new things for Gears of War: Judgment. While quite a bit was revealed, one of the most notable was the mention of Aftermath.

If you played Gears of War 3, you’ll remember that towards the end Marcus sends Baird & Cole to look for reinforcements and more ammunition. As Marcus heads to Azura, you’re eventually reunited with Baird and Cole as you see them come in on helicopters. However, you never really get to experience what happened during their mission.

That all changes with Afermath. As you play through the core campaign offered in the game, a “star” scoring system will rate how you perform through each level. Scoring headshots, executions, and as many ridiculous kills as you possibly can will assist you in receiving the highest rating possible. Once you’ve unlocked all available stars in the campaign, Aftermath will be unlocked and ready to play.

If replay value is a key factor that Epic Games & People Can Fly are going after, then it appears they’re heading in the right direction. There appears to be a ton of content being packed into Gears of War: Judgment that’s making it hard to overlook.
