‘Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’ release date outed, coming to next-gen

Ubisoft’s next big entry in its annualized Assassin’s Creed franchise, Black Flag, has just received a release date and some additional platforms.

A countdown site for the game’s official unveiling recently went live, and while we could all be nice and wait for the company to reveal its own game, digging for more information is just fun. That’s exactly what Gaming Everything did, and what they discovered was both a date and some next-generation ambitions.

Currently, the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U versions are what’s known, but this secret page also says that Black Flag is “coming to next-gen consoles.” An Oct. 29 launch date is also visible.

Since an Assassin’s Creed III trailer is sitting pretty on the site, it’s highly unlikely that Ubisoft didn’t want anyone to discover this page quite yet.
