When King of the Hill and Team Snipers were removed from Halo 4, like many playlists before them, some fans were inevitably upset. However, 343 Industries continues to strive to improve each and every playlist until they settle on something the fanbase is content with.
On Monday, two new playlists will be added including Team Objective, which will contain the previously removed King of the Hill, and Team Snipers which will contain some slight balancing changes including the first time appearance of Shotty Snipers, a personal favorite of mine. The details were all released in this week’s Halo Bulletin:
Mode Team Snipers Teams 4 vs. 4 Score to Win 600 [60 Kills] Loadouts UNSC Sniper Rifle Only Instant Respawn Disabled Death Cam Disabled Motion Tracker Disabled Ammo Unlimited Time Limit 12 Minutes Personal Ordnance Disabled Grenades Disabled Ordnance Drops Disabled
Mode Shotty Snipers Teams 4 vs. 4 Score to Win 600 [60 Kills] Primary UNSC Sniper Rifle Secondary Shotgun Instant Respawn Disabled Death Cam Disabled Motion Tracker Disabled Ammo Unlimited Time Limit 12 Minutes Personal Ordnance Disabled Grenades Enabled Ordnance Drops Disabled
The developer also confirmed that Team Snipers will be sticking around for quite some time and isn’t going anywhere soon. They’re also continuing to develop new sniper based gametypes to place into the hopper.
Team Objective will also be added with some changes. Featuring King of the Hill, Oddball, and 4 vs. 4 Team Regicide, the playlist will lack Complex Oddball and instant respawns for both KoTH and Oddball.
Team Doubles has already seen some balancing changes related to Ordnance Drops an instant respawns as well. The entire list of changes can be found in the link above.
Finally, for those of you pondering the addition of the competitive playlist, Team Throwdown; it will be added on February 18, well ahead of the actual launch of the 50 level skill based ranking.
