Ninja Theory’s crack at the Devil May Cry franchise was, for the most part, a hit among critics, but the recently released sales numbers have forced Capcom to lower initial projections.
The publisher pushed 1 million units in the month of January, which was announced in the nine-month earnings report. In 2008, Devil May Cry 4 shipped twice that amount in the same period of time. This has forced Capcom to reduce expected numbers from 2 million copies by March 31 to just 1.2 million.
This does not include any of the PC numbers from Valve’s Steam service.
