So it’s come to this. We finally got a release date for Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V. But if you were looking towards the spring, prepare for some disappointment.
Rockstar announced that the release date will be September 17. The delay allows for more development time and for all the ambitious things they’re doing like multiple playable characters and the sprawling world of Los Santos. Sam Houser from Rockstar had this to say on the upcoming game:
“Grand Theft Auto V continues to push the series forward in new ways; Rockstar North are creating our deepest, most beautiful and most immersive world yet, We are very excited for people to learn more about the game in the coming months.”
Kind of a bummer to hear but I’d rather Rockstar take the time and effort to make this the best GTA possible. But September will be a weird month as we expect to hear about next-gen consoles this year. Rockstar will no likely sell a lot like with most of the franchise.
