Yesterday’s auction of THQ’s assets saw plenty of studios moving on to new, exciting publishers, but Darksiders developer Vigil Games was left out in the cold. Now, thanks to some Twitter investigation, it seems like Platinum Games may be interested in joining forces with the Four Horsemen.
IGN was first to report that spotter and translator for Platinum, JP Kellams, contacted Vigil lead designer Haydn Dalton about he and his staff members working with or at Platinum. This was then followed by an interesting Tweet from Platinum head Atsushi Inaba.
“In THQ studio and IP selling off auction, Darksiders is unsold? [We] wanna buy it…on the cheap…”
Since Platinum isn’t exactly made of money, “on the cheap” may be the only way the studio could pick the franchise up.
But, with the team so excited to make a cooperative Darksiders III, this may be the only way to make that dream a reality.
