As we wrap up some of the new things Nintendo announced on their Nintendo Direct livestream, we couldn’t help but hear some new details on anything in the The Legend of Zelda universe. We got some new information on their upcoming new title in the franchise but they wanted to shed some love on a classic. First up, they announced a new remake of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
The remake is going to boast some new graphics and Gamepad functionality. Check out a trailer below and I can say, I’m real excited for this. The graphical nature of Wind Waker was always amazing so it’ll be nice to see it in HD. Nintendo has only mentioned a release date of ‘fall’.

In other Zelda news, producer Eiji Aonuma said they’re taking the series into a new design philosophy. They’ve set aside things in current games such as completing the dungeons in a certain order in order to go for a more back to basics feel. It’s all for a chance to reinvigorate the game and create something new again.
