DmC Devil May Cry was released yesterday to a stream of critical praise, but that hasn’t stopped the vocal minority from dragging its Metacritic user score down to an embarrassing low.
Out of 318 reviews of the Xbox 360 version of Ninja Theory’s game, the average sits at a 3.2 out of 10. The actual score compiled from the critics is an 86 out of 100.
We saw a similar happening after the release of Resident Evil 6 – another game coming out of Capcom – but the difference here is that DmC is actually being called a quality product by the people getting paid to do this. There’s been an outcry concerning the series’ reboot since the concept (and Dante’s hair) was first introduced, and according to these review scores, it never subsided.
The sales numbers will truly tell just how upset the world is at this new direction for the franchise.
What do you think about this low score? Does the game deserve it, or is it being bashed for no real reason? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below!
