Since our staff is responsible for covering pretty much everything related to the video game industry on a daily basis, it can be tough to post all the stories we think our readers would like to see. Videos go unwatched, new release dates are missed and silly quotes just float away without ever being heard. So, instead of ignoring the news that slipped through the cracks each week, we decided to put it all in one convenient place!
This week, we take a look at some new GTA V artwork (and the promise of box art), the final box art for the upcoming Gears of War: Judgment, and a little game called Edge of Twilight!
‘GTA V’ gets some more artwork, cover art coming soon
Rockstar is really starting to spoil us with GTA V content. Today, they gave us still more artwork to promote the game, as well as promised that they would be unveiling the game’s box art later this month. The new art, as well as all of the art released thus far, can be downloaded in multiple formats here. Here’s the newest piece:
‘Tweeria’ accused of stealing ‘WoW’ artwork
I haven’t heard of or played this Tweeria, but apparently you can use Twitter to power level through what the advertisements dub “the laziest MMORPG” ever. Lazy might be the ultimate operative term here, as the game has now been accused of stealing artwork from World of Warcraft–specifically, artwork used in the game is literally taken from the WoW trading card game. The game has since added copyright notices to the artwork so that WoW gets its due. Still…fun coincidence, right?
‘Edge of Twilight’ coming to PS3 & Xbox 360 next summer
Steampunk might be the new post-apocalypse. Edge of Twilight, a steampunk action game from developer Fuzzyeyes Limited that’s been sort-of in development since late 2011, is now set for release this summer on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Really, there’s not much more in terms of news for the game at this time, but there will be a free iOS game called Edge of Twilight: Horizon preceding the console game that features events related to and intertwining with the main game, as well as production materials and news for the bigger brother. This is one to watch.
Final ‘Gears of War: Judgment’ box art unveiled
Gears of War: Judgment is the result of another collaboration between Epic Games and People Can Fly (their last was Bulletstorm) and will see the light of day March 19. Since it’s getting kinda close to the release of the game, we’ve got the box art to hold us over until the next installment in the landmark cover-based shooter releases. Check it out below.
Source engine’s ‘Jurassic Park’ mod looking for volunteers
There’s an impressive mod in the works for Half-Life 2 that transforms the game into the dinosaur-inhabited world of Jurassic Park. The game is shaping up to be pretty awesome, and impressively detailed–it makes me want to dig out my copy of the game to get ready for the mod, then read the book at watch the movie–all at the same time. If you’re interested and have the tech savvy, the developer is still seeking an additional modeler and programmer. You can apply here.

‘Torchlight II’ passes one million units sold
The completely-excellent loot-based RPG slasher Torchlight II has passed one million units in sales, a mere three months after release. That’s not bad for an indie game, but it also has the pedigree of some of the talent from the original Diablo games. Runic games will undoubtedly continue with the series after this success, though there isn’t any hard news at this point. In the meantime, it’s certainly worth the money to get the game for a mere $20, which will get you more for your money than several full-priced retail games on the market right now.
