After the VGA trailer that surprised many, new details for Dark Souls II have been hush-hush. But the latest issue of Famitsu magazine delves into more details for the upcoming punishing dungeon-crawling.
From Software’s Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed – As you might have guessed – that trailer was not in-game footage. Miyazaki will also be a supervisor on the project with two co-directors. The game will be set in the same world as the original but a different time period so it won’t be too associated with the original Dark Souls.
There won’t be any paid weapon or item DLC which is a plus and it’ll be running on a new engine. They want to achieve realistic graphics and animations for characters. Finally, they’re looking into new ways for the player to interact in-game.
I just picked up Dark Souls and I hope to get into in the new year. Whether I finish it or not is a whole other question so I’ll have to detail my pain for pleasure with it later on. Let us know if you’re still playing it in the comments or forums.
