‘Halo 4’ users seeing accidental bans due to Crimson Map Pack DLC

The launch of the Crimson Map Pack for 343 Industries’ Halo 4 has been anything but smooth, and now it seems that users are getting banned for just playing it.

As you’d guess, much of the chatter originated on the forums. A bunch of players reported that after downloading and jumping into the content, they were getting booted from matches and receiving messages that their profiles had been banned from all online features. Their account remained active, but participating in any online shenanigans wasn’t an option.

Thankfully, a moderator saw the angry fans and addressed the issue.

We are not permanently banning players for previewing or purchasing the Crimson Map Pack. We are currently investigating the recent reports of permanent matchmaking bans.

We will provide further updates tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.

Hold tight, faithful Halo 4 players. All issues will be revolved soon… we think.
