We now have a date and fancy new trailer for Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us, but the developer decided to put a cherry on top of the post-apocalyptic sundae by unveiling the final box art.
Both Ellie and Joel, the two main characters in the game, are featured in front of a dilapidated Pittsburgh. The fading sunlight may be striking on the box, but it’s the oncoming night filled with unknown creatures that this duo has to face that reminds us of this new world’s danger. The gun Ellie’s carrying does a pretty good job of emphasizing that, too.
Ready for some pre-order information? The “Sights and Sounds Pack” will includes the official soundtrack of the game, a dynamic theme and Winter Joel and Winter Ellie PSN avatars. However, those who pick it up at a US GameStop will receive additional content on top of the “Sights and Sounds Pack.” Bonus experience points for multiplayer, a multiplayer melee attack booster, extra starting in-game cash, special customizable character items for multiplayer, and two special bonus skins for Joel and Ellie will make putting your money down early so much sweeter.
If you pre-order this PlayStation 3 exclusive, expect to see the final game, and its beautiful box art, May 7.
