Just yesterday, we reported on a rumor that Nintendo was looking into making a new Wii. One that was smaller and cheaper and more compact. Nintendo’s finally unveiled it, dubbed the Wii Mini.
It’ll be available December 7 and come packaged with a red Wii Remote Plus and a Nunchuk controller. The system is more flat-rested so sorry to you vertical lovers out there. It looks super compact but will not play GameCube games like the latest Wii or have an ability to connect to the internet for Virtual Console or WiiWare titles.
Kind of strange since Nintendo is ‘trying’ to be more online-friendly with the Wii U. Possibly this low-end Wii is for people who still never got one or just wants a cheaper Wii. If you still haven’t played Super Mario Galaxy 2, then…I don’t know how we can be friends. Go find one and play that game on the machine!
UPDATED: Nintendo hasn’t said if it’ll be available outside of Canada in the press release but it’ll be $99 in Canada. We’ll keep you up to date as the story progresses.
