One of the biggest unanswered questions for gamers has to be the release date for Grand Theft Auto V. We’ve all seen and heard various rumors about the game, but nothing concrete has hit the internet other than speculation.
After releasing a piece of artwork last week, it appears that the Grand Theft Auto V media train is set to kick off. Game Informer will be revealing the title in an 18-page cover story next month, and subsequent news is sure to come soon after.
Possibly stealing a bit of Rockstar’s thunder, an image has surfaced today of what appears to be promotional material for Grand Theft Auto V. A quick examination of the image to the left showcases a “Spring 2013” pending release date for the highly anticipated title. The image features a character who slightly resembles CJ, from GTA: San Andreas, as well. We’ve seen rumors of there being multiple main characters and even the possibility of cooperative play, and this is just fueling the fire even more.
It seems very likely now that we’ll see Rockstar’s next title launch in the April-May window that they’ve released so many titles before in. There’s no confirmation from Rockstar about the authenticity of the promo, but we don’t expect them to confirm that until a release date announcement comes in the next few weeks.
After seeing an announcement trailer last year and quite a few images throughout this year, it’s about time to finally learn more about Grand Theft Auto V. With the 2012 Video Game Awards just around the corner, could we be seeing more GTA footage in the very near future as well?
