Playstation Network down for maintenance today

Last week, Sony made an announcement that the Playstation Store would receive a rather nice upgrade in the coming weeks. In preparation for that fantastic upgrade, the Playstation Network will be undergoing maintenance today.

Starting today at 8AM and lasting until 9PM Eastern, the maintenance will take place for the PSN. Sony issued their usual statement of as long as you have signed in to the Playstation Network within the past few days, your online play should not be interrupted.

However, during this time you will not be able to access the Playstation Store, account management, transactions, or account registration. All other services should be fine, however, we have seen reports that users are still unable to access online play.
