‘DmC’ demo on the way, playable Vergil won’t be on retail disc

Fans will finally be able to stop complaining about Dante’s new look and experience the re-imagination of the Devil May Cry franchise firsthand, as Team Ninja’s DmC will be getting a console demo in the near future.

Producer Alex Jones was recently involved in a panel at the New York Comic Con, and while he couldn’t give attendees a hard date on the trial of the game, he did have some other interesting information on the hack-and-slash classic. Mundus, the main villain from the first game in the series that made its debut on the PlayStation 2, will return in DmC.

Dante’s brother, Vergil, will also see some action, but it sounds like actually playing as him “will not be on the disc.” A playable version of Vergil could be DLC, but either way, the brothers will interact often in the final game. More information on their parents has also been promised in the final game.

Look for the demo in the coming weeks, and the release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC January 15, 2013.

What do you think of the new direction for Devil May Cry? Will you download the demo when it’s available? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below!
