A lot of people know that The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is coming out this December but you knew of the Lord of the Rings game coming out before it right? Let’s give you a little primer.
Guardians of Middle-Earth is being developed by Monolith Productions, developers on the F.E.A.R. series and the recent Gotham City Impostors. It’s a MOBA (short for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) set in Middle-Earth. You can play as a bunch of heroes or villains from the J.R.R. Tolkien lore and you’ll command troops to take down towers. If you can make it to the end of the map and destroy the last tower, you win. Fans of League of Legends and Awesomenauts shouldn’t miss out on this one.
Monolith announced today that it’ll be released for $14.99 or 1200 MSP on PSN and XBLA on December 4. But if you don’t want to pick it up digitally, you can actually get it at retail for $29.99. Why the extra price? It includes a Season Pass for future DLC coming to the game, with new maps, characters and modes. You can purchase the content without the season pass when it becomes available over PSN or XBLM.
Think you’ll pick this up digitally or at retail? Let us know in the comments or post about it in our forums.
