With the launch of the Wii U later this year, and the numerous rumors about Microsoft and Sony’s next hardware release, thoughts of next-gen games are already taking root. PlayStation VP of hardware marketing John Koller has something to say bout this. In an interview with GameSpot, (via VG 24/7) Koller said,
A lot of great content is coming. And over the next 2-3 years, the PS3 has got an incredible lineup. That consumer coming in this fall is going to really have an opportunity to have great content and what we believe to be the best content in the industry.
He goes on to mention unannounced first-party titles Sony is currently working on, referencing the PS2’s life cycle as a point of comparison. But, this rings of something Koller, especially considering his title, has to say to drum up holiday sales. That being said, if Sony truly supports the PS3 in it’s later years the same way it did the PS2, it’ll only mean good things for us all.
What do you think the next few years hold for the PS3? And what do you want to see from the unannounced first-party games mentioned? Discuss below or head over to the Stick Skills forums.
