Anyone looking forward to playing the revamped version of Baldur’s Gate next week will be sadly disappointed. Trent Oster, president of Overhaul Games, announced earlier today via a forum post that Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition has been delayed. According to Oster,

After recently reviewing the game and then consulting with our partners, we’ve decided to ensure that Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is the best possible product on launch. Thus, we have pushed back the release date of the game. Our plan is to release in November, 2012.

From the sound of the post, it seems like there was just too much to fix, and not enough time. Those who have pre-ordered the game, or do so before release, have also been promised “a little something extra.”
