Red Orchestra has grown over the past few years to become one of the great success stories of the FPS modding scene. Originally the winner of the Make Something Unreal contest back in 2005, the mod was later released as a stand-alone product in ’06. Since then, Tripwire has gone on to make a sequel, Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad, and is making good on a promise for DLC with the expansion Rising Storm. Gameplay footage recently revealed gets into the nuts and bolts of the expansion, set during the Pacific campaign of World War II.
Tactical advantages of both sides are discussed, but the Japanese seem to be the focus of this demo. Overall, the expansion looks as complicated as ever, and I’m sure I’ll die just as much in Rising Sun as I have in the previous games. What do you think of Rising Sun so far?
