Everyone’s favorite sport in the Halo universe, Grifball, will be heading to 343 Industries’ Halo 4 later this year with a slew of improvements and fresh ideas.
This player-created mode has always been about working as a team to get the ball into the opponent’s goal, but transferring the spherical attention-grabber has never been that easy. Well, the team behind Master Chief’s newest adventure took note of Grifball’s popularity and apparent drawbacks, so the sport is now officially a preset gametype with the added ability of ball throwing.

Players can now toss the ball from teammate to teammate, making teamwork an even more essential aspect of the mode. An original Grifball map and new weapon functionality will also add some depth to Halo 4’s latest gametype. Oh, and the hammer looks pretty rad now, too.
If you haven’t played, or even heard of, Grifball, does this make you want to give it a go? For veterans of the “sport,” how excited are you to pass the rock? Let us know below.
