Everyone knows it’s better to shoot your friends than to blast the heads of of NPCs all the time and now, in Sniper Elite V2 on the PS3 and Xbox 360, you’ll be able to do just that. Producer 505 Games along with developer Rebellion are now ready to bring full multiplayer support to the console versions of their WWII sharpshooter.
According to Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion, the decision to expand multiplayer support comes as a “thank you to our dedicated gamers for buying our games, and also to say keep an eye out for our next big Sniper Elite announcement.”
The multiplayer will come in the form of free DLC, “available later this year,” and will allow players to play in four different modes: Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Team Distance King, and Distance King. The game itself, as you probably know, is a third-person sniping-shooter set toward the end of World War II.
Though Sniper Elite V2 didn’t receive much critical acclaim, it does have a small following. Have you tried your hand at long-distance enemy neutralization yet? Does the addition of multiplayer make you want to do so?
