For anyone that follows the world of videogames, it was rather hard to watch what happened regarding Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning earlier in the year. While the game showed quite a bit of promise, the studio ultimately was in extreme financial trouble and eventually collapsed.
After Big Huge Games was ultimately closed, Epic Games acquired much of the talented staff. The group was founded in June, but the studio had essentially remained nameless until today.
Epic Games has officially announced that the studio comprised mostly of former Big Huge Games employees will now be known as “Impossible Studios”. A fitting name, right?
The studio will be based out of Baltimore, Maryland and its very first project will be Infinity Blade: Dungeons for iOS devices. With the studio having such a strong background in quality releases, we wouldn’t be surprised to see them work on a console title within the next few years.
